A recent study published by the University of Maine states: “At birth, a baby’s brain contains 100 billion neurons, roughly as many nerve cells as there are stars in the Milky Way, and almost all the neurons the brain will ever have. In the brain, the neurons are there at birth, as well as some synapses. As the neurons mature, more and more synapses are made. At birth, the number of synapses per neuron is 2,500, but by age two or three, it’s about 15,000 per neuron.”
“Windows of opportunity” are sensitive periods in children’s lives when specific types of learning take place. For instance, scientists have determined that stress can become toxic when a child has frequent or prolonged experiences like abuse, neglect or poverty without adult support. The thoughts we choose as a result of our childhood wounds stay with us UNTIL we liberate ourselves through daily practice of choosing to replace those negative thoughts with positive ones.
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
I will share with you my story as a Realtor who has sold 100’s of millions of dollars of real estate over a twenty-year period. Externally, what people saw was a strong, confident, knowledgeable, resilient, caring real estate agent. And, I was all of those things; however internally I was scared, insecure and most of all NEGATIVE!!!
My thoughts were in conflict with my outer success. So, as the great-granddaughter of a renowned, published writer, the daughter of a published writer, I began writing about this “choice” I allowed to devalue my self-esteem, which weakened me to the core.
What resulted from my writing was a course I titled The Heart of Real Estate. Over the years I have coached hundreds of agents, taught the course at the local college and at various real estate offices and Boards of Realtors.
I coined the three C’s; Clarity, Creativity and Commitment. Working with agents through improvisational exercises, powerful questions and self-love breaks has been transformational for them as well as for me. And, my heart feels good knowing I have made a difference helping us all achieve joy AND abundance.
The power of positive thinking is attainable for everyone. Every single one of us is born to manifest the glory of Source, from which we came. Never doubt this fact for one minute. Be the super star you were meant to be. Don’t allow negative thoughts to freeze you with fear or steal your greatness. Choose again. Re-think and re-vision.
