The Clarity Through Contrast Technique : Abraham

flower

“When you deliberately seek positive aspects of whatever you are giving your attention to, in a sense you tune your vibrational tuner to more positive aspects of everything. The better it gets, the better it gets, for you get more and more of what you are thinking about —whether you want it or not.”

~ Abraham ~

Fold a piece of paper in half. On the left side, write Contrast. On the right side, write Clarity.

Next, under Contrast write all the things you don’t want such as “I don’t want to work in an unconscious environment with unhappy people.” Under Clarity, you write what you do want “I want to work in a conscious, inspiring, uplifting environment with happy people.”

After several minutes of staring into space, I concluded that everything I want is what I have always wanted. So, how did I end up in the last chapter of my life starting all over again?

If you had asked me why I relocated from my idyllic home of sixteen years in a picturesque Northern California town to the concrete jungle of Los Angeles, three years ago I would have looked at you with furrowed brows wondering myself what possessed me to end up here again. But, here I am.

So, did Marianne Williamson have some telepathic insight when she said to me one night after her lecture “Consider it a calling?” Would I have traveled to Maui to spend time with Wayne Dyer and participated in his “Divine Love” conference? Or immersed myself in Oprah and Deepak’s meditation series? Written my second book, Hello, Beautiful? Met more Law of Attraction life coaches in ten square miles than lived on the entire Monterey Peninsula? Written a weight-release program and started Health & Wellness meetups? My vast spiritual book collection, which had gathered dust while resting peacefully on bookshelves in my peaceful home, I now read and re-read The Power of Now, Eat, Pray, Love, The Tibetan Book of Living & Dying, Uncomfortable With Uncertainty, even the Bible…anything that keeps me grounded in faith as I seek clarity.

But, like most of us I want an airtight sign that this path I am on is part of a divine plan. I need a sign that guarantees I am fulfilling my destiny so on the left hand side of my Clarity Through Contrast exercise, I write “I don’t want confusion, doubt, worry or despair to be in my consciousness.” On the right side under Clarity, I write “I will focus my full attention on what I do want as I am connected to an unlimited source of higher intelligence and abundance.”

You see, Law of Attraction is a philosophy that simply means “like attracts like.” Practicing overcoming your negative self talk springboards you into forming positive ones that serve your highest good. Law of Attraction is as old a concept as Bible verses: Ask and it is given, Seek and ye shall find, With God, all things are possible…

Scientific studies on how our minds work deduce that 99.9% of our thoughts are on things we don’t want. It’s easy for us to come up with brilliant ideas about how we can change everyone and everything, even all the world’s problems, but it’s so hard to change our own thoughts. So, here’s one ageless and passionate woman’s thoughts: Devote your mind on only the things you want. If you want a better relationship, then visualize it. If you want more money, see it pouring down on you and don’t question the source, if you want to release unwanted weight, look in the mirror, smile and say “Hello, Beautiful.”

Stay tuned….
